In no time at all I will be in you, or on you, however you choose to interpret it. Friday I am looking forward to your arrival

Monday, December 21, 2009

I guess this means winter where I am.

In 4 days I get to see the b.f.f. the excitement grows. I have a lot of time off this week, my job goes into a weird holiday schedule so I worked today, go in Thursday for a half day then fly home Friday.

Nothing better to do than drink beer when you are home alone 3000 miles from your home on the holidays

Carson Mansion

This is a place near where I live. Some snoodie like club took it over so you cant get in. Its cool, it looks like an Alice in Wonderland house. Dude that built it was a lumber pioneer who axed thousands of redwood trees in the 1800's.

And just because

Going to Phoenix the day after tomorrow to see my pops, step mom , younger sister and uncle for Turkey Day. Come back to Cali after get back grind for 3 weeks then to Albany for Christmas. So pumped. I am sick of feeling so disconnected from my friends. Its some what discouraging in a way, a bummer and well I dunno. Its just a crappy feeling. But its part of living so far away.

This song is good.

Local Commercials

Well this is a local commercial. It should sum up how much this place "rules". Its amazing when a bunch of mountain people try to be hip (as seen in this comerical).

There are trucks with Nazi Storm Trooper helmet stickers on them listening to nu metal or even once in a while rap. Meth heads, homeless people, transients and more hippies than I care to ever look at. Oh and there is apparently a town about 45 minutes west in the mountains where everyone is "related". So who wants to come visit?

Tell me who they stole the dance from and slowed it down. Anyone, anyone?

Tomorrow its Baltimore for a few days, next week its Phoenix for Thanksgiving. Then in December its home for Christmas and New Years. Cant wait fam.

This is my life where I live in a nutshell

Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day, hug a Veteran, thank a Veteran, feed a Veteran, salute a Veteran. The sacrifices these people make whether or not you agree with them are big sacrifices. They are life changing sacrifices. They are sacrifices for a country that they believe in, for a country that we live in.

Appreciate the men and women of the armed forces. They make great sacrifices, ones that involve their family, their own life and for something they believe in.

Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking. When I do this pops into my head. I know wah wah wah blah blah. Not sure if what I am thinking is good or its bad. It just is I suppose.

My life just feels crazy. It feels like things are unraveling at a pretty quick pace, I feel like I am slipping a little, just kind of falling off. I feel out of touch with my friends, myself and my life. Its why I look forward to going home I suppose. Get that chance to reconnect. I guess maybe I just feel like I am 29 and working towards 30. Maybe its part of growing up.

Its just been chaos for a bit now. I figured upping and moving would be the best thing for me so I did, I moved 3,200 miles to do something different. But now I feel a different I didnt expect. Maybe its just the change in seasons, getting dark earlier, getting cooler.

I read an article the other day from The Cafferty File blog on CNN.Com. Its about the future of America. Its a rather grim out look and I am digging a little more to put validity to what I read. It stated that 75 percent of Americans between the age of 17 and 24 are unfit for military service. Thats rather staggering if you think about it. Thats 7 years of a generation where only 25 percent can fill those shoes there are a lot to fill (all branches is some where near 1 million or so I believe). Its for various reasons from lack of education, obesity, crime and a few other things. I have seen my share of people lacking real life skills, common sense or a somewhat decent education to get the grasp of life just inside of the Coast Guard, such a hard time grasping things infact they are usually discharged for incomptence.

The next fact in the article is about how 50 percent of amercian children will be on food stamps by the age of 20 and that 90 percent of African American children fall into that category. 90 percent, think about that. Its scary and devistating in many ways. It shows how harsh things are and can be.

Just something to think about. These are the things that make everything around us a bit weaker.

Its been a minute. Not much changed or going on. Just life as it is and as it has been. Just felt like I needed to put something here. Feeling a little home sick, ready to be home to see the b.f.f. and get some quality time.

Love you miss you fam.

I jumped on the Neti Pot train

Last week I was so stuffed up and decongestants werent working so I jumped on the Neti Pot band wagon. I have to admit, it kind of changed the way I look at things.

But obviously I looked better than this guy did. If you havent tried it yet, I suggest you do.

The Marina is pretty cool, it has a memorial to the fisherman lost at sea. Plus during crab season you can go buy fresh crab right on the pier from the fisherman.

December I will be home, its still a few months away but I am looking real forward to it.

This double double didnt stand a chance. The only mistake was I didnt get it animal style.

Today the Blodgett babes are another year older, I wish I was there to share it with them. Next year fam.

I miss Alicia Keys sing alongs with CB, I miss random run ins on Friday and Saturday nights.

I miss bar conversations and bar time with good friends.

The Yankees are going to the postseason and the Giants are going to have a killer season.

But I miss my fam. Keep killing it people, Gyro your still the prettiest

So I got nothing. Went hiking in the Redwoods this past weekend. The trail dumps you on the coast. As I was attempting to get to the beach I stumbled upon this massive beast of an Elk. I was about 20ft away when I spotted it and it didnt look hyped that I was in his turf. I backed off and was 100ft or so away when I took this picture. Of course the bitch of it was that this thing was laying on the trail so I couldnt get past thus ending my day a little early. For a few moments when I first spotted this beast I first imagined me being rushed and impailed by its antlers, then I imagined myself wresteling it to the ground and pinning it for defeat, gnawing off a piece of its thigh like Bear Gryls of Man vs Wild.

Other than that, I joined the up to date tech geek world and got myself the new 3GS iphone 16gb.

I miss you Albany fam. Home sickness is happening a bit more. I wont be able to get home until Christmas.

I had the pleasure to spend last week in Virginia, hot, humid and boring. Getting home was a fiasco, first flight delayed, second flight delayed. Final connection missed it so I spent the night in SLC eating pop tarts because that place shuts down as soon as the street lamps come on.

It is what it is.

Just another day.

Strolling the beach and taking pictures really is my new hobbie. Today was a good day for it. It got up to about 75 degrees or so which is pretty warm for here. It felt real good and what better to do than hit one of the beaches. This is at the Samoa Beach and Sand Dunes, hands down one of my favorites to go to on the reg...lifes a beach...get it. Hah

Well fam, its been a minute. I am pretty sure everyone is at French Fest this weekend. Total bummer. Wish I was there. Its always a good time I know that. I wonder when I will get some fam time. I assume probably not until November or December. The weather is taking some adjusting too, it really is like being stuck in Ground Hog day. I expect to turn on the news and find Bill Murray talking from inside the t.v., a few , more pictures of boringness. One is looking out the front of my house into the mountains the others are random beach pictures. I have found myself spending more and more time at the beach just wandering up and down taking pictures. There are so many different ones to go to out here and each is unique in its own way.

Thursday, July 2, 2009

I have been spending time exploring beaches and the Redwoods. The pictures above are from Moonstone Beach which might be one of the illest isolated beaches I have ever been to. Today I took a trek through the Redwoods. That is it folks. Life is slow here, I miss my babe fam, my fam and the 518. I have been gone just over 3 weeks but it feels like 3 months. I am settled into the new home all cozy and what not, even had a deer walk down the street the other night. Kind of crazy.
